Deck overview

This Grixis deck builds a single large Orc Army and wins through combat. Saruman, the White Hand grows the Army whenever you cast a noncreature spell for X counters and gives all Goblins and Orcs ward {2}. You cast cheap draw, removal, and amass spells to stack counters quickly, then push the Army through with Rogue's Passage, The Black Gate, menace and trample. Secondary paths include Wraith tokens from Lord of the Nazgul and In the Darkness Bind Them, card advantage from the Ring tempts engine, and reach from Fiery Inscription, Fling and One Ring to Rule Them All. Sauron, the Dark Lord acts as the hidden commander, providing an independent amass trigger and draw engine when Saruman is unavailable.
