Deck overview

This Edgar Markov deck executes a classic Mardu aggressive swarm and aristocrats strategy. Edgar's eminence ability triggers from the command zone whenever you cast a Vampire spell, generating immediate board presence at zero additional mana cost. The deck curves low-cost Vampires into aggressive anthem lords, scaling power rapidly before opponents establish defenses. Card draw engines like Skullclamp turn disposable 1/1 tokens into fresh resources, while aristocrat payoffs such as Blood Artist and Cruel Celebrant ensure that opposing board wipes punish enemy life totals. Mid-game damage doublers like Bloodletter of Aclazotz and drain engines like Sanctum Seeker accelerate combat damage toward a Turn 6 table finish. When combat is contested, tutors can find the infinite life-drain combo of Exquisite Blood with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Sanguine Bond to close the game immediately.
