Smaug by Brine

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Impenetrable is a Rakdos Treasure-combo commander. The deck points noncombat damage at Smaug via Pyrohemia, Pestilence, or Mayhem Devil, converting that damage into Treasures. Those tokens fuel Dragon spells, card draw off Smaug, Wicked Worm, and sacrifice payoffs. The sharpest win line is a loop with Mayhem Devil, Mirkwood Bats, Smaug, and one Treasure: sacrificing the Treasure drains opponents and lets Mayhem Devil re-damage Smaug, creating another Treasure. If the loop is not assembled, hasty Dragon beats and Smaug the Magnificent's Treasure-count burn provide a midrange backup plan.
