Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black control and combo build commanded by Erebos, God of the Dead. The strategy leverages black's efficient card draw, mana doubling, and symmetric discard engines to control the pace of the game while denying opposing lifegain. Mana accelerators such as Crypt Ghast, K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, and Cabal Coffers allow the deck to quickly generate mana for game-ending plays. The primary win condition is the two-card infinite combo of Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog, which drains the entire table in a single turn through repeated Magecraft triggers. Alternatively, the deck can close games through overwhelming board advantage using Peer into the Abyss, massive Torment of Hailfire casts, or Tergrid, God of Fright paired with mass discard like Dark Deal. While resilient in card flow and engine recovery, the deck has limited instant-speed stack interaction and must carefully time its combo windows.
