Deck overview

This deck is an upkeep-scaling synergy engine commanded by Obeka, Splitter of Seconds. The strategy accelerates Obeka onto the battlefield on Turn 4 using efficient 2-mana artifacts, equips her with unblockable evasion or shroud, and attacks on Turn 5. Obeka's combat damage triggers multiple additional upkeep steps in the post-combat main phase, rapidly accelerating cards that trigger at the beginning of upkeep. Payoffs like Descent into Avernus, All Will Be One, Phyrexian Arena, and the colored Ring cycle (Ring of Valkas, Ring of Evos Isle) balloon exponentially, granting bursts of cards, explosive +1/+1 counters, and table-wide burn damage. A deep tutor suite featuring Tribute Mage, Fabricate, Spellseeker, and Whir of Invention ensures dependable access to protection and evasion equipment like Swiftfoot Boots and Whispersilk Cloak. The deck closes games around Turn 7 through overwhelming combat damage or rapid Descent burn across two opponent response cycles.
