Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos midrange and tribal sacrifice deck led by Uglúk of the White Hand, themed entirely around the evil factions of Middle-earth. The primary strategy centers on deploying cheap Goblin and Orc fodder, generating Army tokens through the Amass mechanic, and feeding them to sacrifice outlets to rapidly swell Uglúk with +1/+1 counters for commander damage. Heavy top-end threats like The Balrog, Durin's Bane and The Balrog of Moria supplement the offense alongside combat finishers like Assault on Osgiliath. However, the deck is constrained by an unusually high land count of 55 lands and a total absence of dedicated mana rocks or tutors. Consequently, mana velocity stays strictly at parity and card replenishment remains low and prone to flooding. Interaction is heavily skewed toward sorcery-speed removal and enter-the-battlefield triggers, with Orcish Bowmasters providing rare instant-speed disruption. The deck thrives in lower-power casual pods through resilient high-power combat threats.
