Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Izzet Spellslinger Combo-Control build centered on Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The strategy focuses on accelerating through early mana rocks and cost reducers while sculpting a hand of cheap interaction and cantrips. Once sufficient colored mana is available on Turn 5, the deck deploys Niv-Mizzet, Parun and attaches a curiosity-style effect—such as Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout. Any card draw or instant/sorcery cast subsequently triggers an infinite damage-and-draw chain that clears opposing creatures and depletes all three opponents' life totals in a single turn. The list supports this primary win condition with format-staple countermagic and removal that replaces itself via Niv-Mizzet's triggers, alongside secondary payoffs including Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Psychosis Crawler, and Storm-Kiln Artist.
