Deck overview

This deck is an eclectic Combo-Midrange build helmed by Valko Indorian, utilizing the Rulebreaker mechanic to integrate multi-colored Phyrexian Praetors and poison threats alongside a classic mono-black combo shell and a Relentless Rats package. The deck's primary victory line centers on the two-card infinite combo of Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog, leveraging Magecraft triggers to drain the entire table on Turn 4. Supported by explosive fast mana such as Dark Ritual, Mana Vault, and Cabal Ritual, and universal tutors including Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor, the deck rapidly assembles its win condition. Alternatively, it can pivot into an overwhelming value engine with Bolas's Citadel and Sensei's Divining Top, or lock down opponents with asymmetric Praetors like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines. However, the deck suffers from thin protection for its planeswalker centerpiece, lack of stack counterspells, and an inconsistent multi-theme card pool.
