Commander: Miss Highwater

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black discard-control deck built around Miss Highwater. The primary game plan is to strip opponents' hands with a dense suite of hand-disruption spells, then leverage discard payoffs like Megrim, Liliana's Caress, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to drain life. Miss Highwater herself offers a contract counter on combat damage - the opponent draws seven cards but later gives you token copies of their board when they lose. The deck wins through incremental drain, a Peer into the Abyss + Sheoldred kill, or combat from evasive threats. Recursion via Magus of the Will and Sins of the Past provides resilience, while a handful of tutors (Grim Tutor, Liliana Vess) find key pieces. The strategy is slow but grindy, aiming to out-value opponents over many turns.
