Deck overview

Black Waltz No. 3 commands a Rakdos spellslinger and combo deck designed to turn noncreature spell casts into lethal table-wide burn. The deck's primary route to victory is augmenting the commander with infect via Phyresis, Glistening Oil, or Tainted Strike, allowing just five noncreature spells to eliminate all three opponents simultaneously with poison counters. In addition to infect burn, the deck integrates compact two-card combos including Professor Onyx with Chain of Smog and Dualcaster Mage with Twinflame, providing redundant same-turn win conditions. Mana velocity is accelerated through low-cost artifacts, rituals like Dark Ritual and Jeska's Will, and engine pieces such as Birgi, God of Storytelling and Storm-Kiln Artist. Interactive defense relies on efficient spot removal, versatile sweepers like Fire Covenant, and redirection spells like Deflecting Swat to protect critical turns. The list operates with high velocity, transitioning from resource setup to a decisive same-turn table kill.
