Deck overview

This Orzhov deck is commanded by Ardbert, Warrior of Darkness, uniting low-cost legendary creatures with a potent +1/+1 counter and combat keyword engine. The strategy focuses on curving out aggressive legendary threats on the opening turns, deploying Ardbert on Turn 3, and chaining colored spells to grant the entire team permanent stat growth, vigilance, and menace. The deck breaks multiplayer parity by casting asymmetric board wipes like Urza's Ruinous Blast and Damning Verdict, which devastate opposing boards while leaving its own buffed legendary board intact. Card advantage engines such as Breena, the Demagogue, Tocasia's Welcome, and Welcoming Vampire maintain steady hand velocity without overextending mana. Resilient sacrificial protectors and instant-speed hexproof effects shield the team against wipeouts. While lacking infinite combos or fast mana rocks, the deck applies relentless, highly evasive combat pressure that closes out 4-player games across consecutive attacks by Turn 7.
