Commander: Sauron, Lord of the Rings

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Grixis reanimator deck with a strong amass subtheme, commanded by Sauron, Lord of the Rings. The primary game plan is to fill the graveyard through looting, entomb effects, and self-mill, then reanimate high-impact threats such as Inferno Titan, Cavern-Hoard Dragon, and Scourge of the Throne. The commander serves as a powerful reanimation engine on cast, immediately returning a creature from the graveyard and creating a large Army token. The deck also leverages amass synergies to generate a growing token, and instant/sorcery spells to trigger Guttersnipe, Fiery Inscription, and Lord of the Nazgul for additional reach. Without infinite combos, it wins through overwhelming combat damage, often accelerated by extra combat from Scourge of the Throne or mass recursion via Living Death.
