Commander: The Scarab God

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a classic Dimir Zombie tribal deck helmed by The Scarab God, a resilient commander that provides steady value through life drain, scry, and the ability to exile creatures from any graveyard to create 4/4 black Zombie tokens. The primary game plan is to establish a wide board of Zombie tokens and lords, leveraging anthem effects like Lord of the Accursed and Undead Warchief to overwhelm opponents through combat, while the commander's upkeep trigger and Gray Merchant of Asphodel provide alternative drain-based reach. The deck is built as a midrange value engine, with recursion pieces such as Gisa and Geralf, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed, and Zul Ashur, Lich Lord to recover from board wipes. It lacks fast infinite combos but compensates with incremental advantage, strong tribal synergies, and a resilient commander that can be recast from the command zone.
