Deck overview

Silverquill, the Disputant commands an Orzhov midrange deck designed around creature combat, lifegain synergies, and spell duplication. The commander grants casualty 1 to every instant and sorcery spell you cast, allowing you to sacrifice small utility creatures to duplicate removal, buffs, and direct drain effects. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost creatures like Informed Inkwright, Banehound, and Postmortem Professor while hitting regular land drops. Once the commander arrives on Turn 4, the deck leverages duplicated spells to control the board while generating token armies or pumping attackers with cards like Stirring Hopesinger and Sally Pride, Lioness Leader. Standalone threats like Divinity of Pride and Junji, the Midnight Sky close out games through evasive combat damage and life drain. While the deck possesses versatile removal and steady combat pressure, it suffers from minimal ramp, a lack of tutors, and limited defensive protection against board wipes.
