Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Rakdos combo strategy centered on Smaug the Impenetrable. Because Smaug has indestructible and creates a Treasure token for every point of noncombat damage dealt to him, the deck leverages wide-damage board wipes, self-damage spells, and repeat pings as massive ritual engines. Spells like Blasphemous Act, Star of Extinction, and Cut Propulsion immediately generate 13 to 20 Treasures upon resolution. The deck converts this sudden influx of artifacts directly into game-ending burn through drain engines like Mirkwood Bats and Reckless Fireweaver, massive X-spells like Crackle with Power, or an infinite damage loop with Blazing Sunsteel. Backup win conditions include Wrathful Red Dragon reflecting lethal damage to opponents' faces and Hellkite Tyrant stealing artifacts. While the deck possesses immense burst velocity and high redundancy, it relies on landing its 7-mana commander and remains vulnerable to exile removal and countermagic.
