Deck overview

This Sultai deck harnesses Zaxara, the Exemplary to convert every X-cost spell into an escalating board of massive Hydra tokens. Supported by green mana acceleration and Sultai card draw, the strategy transitions from early ramp into mid-game mana surplus using engines like Elementalist's Palette, Kami of Whispered Hopes, and Mana Reflection. Counter multipliers including Doubling Season, Branching Evolution, and Corpsejack Menace rapidly balloon token sizes into lethal threats. The deck overcomes traditional big-mana vulnerabilities by pairing raw draw spells like Finale of Revelation and Pull from Tomorrow with evasion enablers like Herald of Secret Streams and Garruk's Uprising. When combat is stalled, alternate finishers like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate bypass opposing blockers entirely. While reliant on untapping with high mana and vulnerable to well-timed board wipes, the deck's redundant X-spells and high burst card velocity allow it to rebuild quickly and threaten fatal swings.
