Deck overview

This mono-red aggressive deck is built around Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, a unique commander that trades control around the table on every player's upkeep. Because Alexios untaps, gains a +1/+1 counter, gains haste, and must attack each combat if able while being unable to attack its owner or be sacrificed, it unleashes a blistering damage clock that strikes four times per table rotation. The deck accelerates Alexios onto the battlefield on Turn 3 and augments it with resilient equipment such as Commander's Plate, Mithril Coat, and Brotherhood Regalia. Damage multipliers like Two-Handed Axe // Sweeping Cleave and Jeska, Thrice Reborn drastically shorten the clock, quickly delivering lethal commander damage to every opponent. Defensively, the list runs a dense suite of redirection spells like Deflecting Swat and Bolt Bend to protect Alexios from targeted removal while opponents are forced to batter each other.
