Braids Arisen Nightmare by BrooklenDW

Format: Commander

Commander: Braids, Arisen Nightmare

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-black sacrifice/aristocrats deck is helmed by Braids, Arisen Nightmare, who turns each end step into a forced-sacrifice check that draws cards or drains life. The primary game plan is to establish a steady stream of creature deaths-via edicts, sacrifice outlets, and token generators-while leveraging drain effects like Blood Artist, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel to close out the table. The deck packs a dense recursion suite (15+ reanimation spells/engines) that ensures permanents keep coming back even after wipes. Secondary win conditions include infinite combos: Gravecrawler + Pitiless Plunderer + Ashnod's Altar generates infinite mana and death triggers, and Orcish Bowmasters + Mindcrank can mill opponents out. The commander provides relentless card advantage and removal pressure, but the deck can function without her through its deep graveyard synergies and combo lines living entirely in the 99.
