Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Grixis Spellslinger strategy centered on Saruman, the White Hand. It accelerates early with premier fast mana artifacts and talismans to deploy Saruman ahead of curve. Once Saruman is on the battlefield, every noncreature spell grows a massive Orc Army token while granting it ward {2}. The deck draws heavily through format staples like The One Ring and Rhystic Study, sustaining a full hand of cheap cantrips, burn payoffs, and free protection spells. Combat evasion lands such as The Black Gate and support creatures like Orcish Siegemaster convert the single towering Army into an efficient multi-turn clock. While it eschews infinite combo loops, its dense interaction package and high-velocity card draw allow it to control the board and eliminate opponents sequentially through overwhelming combat damage and incidental noncreature burn.
