Deck overview

This Golgari deck is an aristocrat-lifegain hybrid commander deck led by Dina, Soul Steeper. The deck focuses on turning frequent, small lifegain triggers into steady life loss for all opponents. Low-cost creatures and artifacts such as Essence Warden, Prosperous Innkeeper, and Pristine Talisman trigger Dina, Soul Steeper whenever permanents enter, spells resolve, or lands drop. Mid-to-late game powerhouses like Bolas's Citadel, Beledros Witherbloom, and Pest Infestation scale this damage rapidly, overwhelming opponents with swarms of Pest tokens and repeated drain triggers. While the deck boasts high internal synergy, redundant drain effects, and versatile permanent removal, it lacks instant two-card infinite combos and stack protection. As a result, it relies on maintaining a cumulative board presence over multiple turns to grind opponents down to zero life.
