crocs and socks by user7616552

Format: Commander

Commander: Volrath, the Shapestealer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Volrath, the Shapestealer heads a Sultai Crocodile typal deck that wins by building a wide, synergized board of crocodiles and then pumping it past 120 life. Volrath is a flexible secondary threat: at the start of combat he puts a -1/-1 counter on a creature, then can become a 7/5 copy of that creature, often stealing evasion or keywords. The primary plan is using cost reducers and draw engines (Herald's Horn, Vanquisher's Banner, Kindred Discovery) to flood the battlefield, with Coat of Arms, Obelisk of Urd, and Unnatural Growth as finishers. Leatherhead, Iron Gator is a secondary legendary payoff; there is no hidden commander, since the list is not built around a single non-commander card.
