Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mono-Black Zombie tribal and aristocrats strategy led by Ghoulcaller Gisa. The deck curves out with low-cost Zombie creatures, mana rocks, and card-draw engines like Cryptbreaker and Undead Augur. Once Gisa resolves, she converts tall or recurring creatures like Gravecrawler and Diregraf Colossus into armies of 2/2 Zombie tokens. Tribal lords such as Death Baron, Cemetery Reaper, and Undead Warchief buff the horde with power, deathtouch, and menace, allowing the deck to close games through combat. In parallel, drain engines such as Ayara, First of Locthwain, Vengeful Dead, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel punish opponents for creature deaths and burn the table. While the deck boasts strong mid-range redundancy and resilient graveyard recursion, it lacks stack interaction, fast mana, and mass protection spells, making it vulnerable to well-timed board wipes and exile effects.
