Deck overview

This is a casual Izzet engine deck centered on The Locust God. It uses wheels and other draw effects to create flying Insects, then converts those tokens into damage with Impact Tremors, Shared Animosity, Witty Roastmaster, or combat. The deck also has alternate draw payoffs such as Niv-Mizzet, Parun, Psychosis Crawler, and Laboratory Maniac. Its strongest secondary plan is Narset, Parter of Veils with a wheel, which can severely reduce opponents' future card flow. The main limitations are slow mana, many tapped lands, expensive permanents, and weak access to the complete commander-plus-payoff package. It can produce impressive turns in a regular casual game, especially after resolving a wheel, but it is not a reliable fast finisher or competitive control deck. In a bracket 2–3 environment, it should synergize well with other battlecruiser and upgraded-preconstructed decks, although the Narset, Parter of Veils wheels may create occasional high-friction games.
