Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger burn strategy commanded by Vivi Ornitier. The game plan revolves around deploying Vivi early, then chaining cheap noncreature spells, cantrips, and burn spells to trigger Vivi's ability—growing its power while dealing direct damage to each opponent. Once Vivi accumulates counters, its {0} activated ability generates a burst of {U} and {R} mana equal to its power, refunding mana to extend spell chains into decisive finishers like Grapeshot, Mana Geyser, Thousand-Year Storm, or large X-spells such as Volcanic Geyser and Fireball. The deck is supported by efficient mana rocks, cost reducers like Goblin Electromancer, and card engines like Archmage Emeritus. It maintains high defensive capability through a robust counterspell package and Propaganda, while alternate burn creatures like Guttersnipe and Firebrand Archer provide redundant table-wide pressure.
