Wick, the Whorled Mind

Format: Commander

Commander: Wick, the Whorled Mind

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Wick, the Whorled Mind helms a Grixis Rat tribal deck that pivots on creating Snail tokens, stacking +1/+1 counters on them, then sacrificing the Snail for massive drain damage and card draw. The primary game plan is to establish a early Rat engine (via Lord Skitter, Sewer King, Piper of the Swarm, or Marrow-Gnawer), feed Snail counters through repeated Rat ETBs, and finish opponents with Wick's activated ability. Backup wins come from combat damage via Pack Rat or Ashcoat of the Shadow Swarm pumping the swarm, poison from Tainted Strike on a large creature, and drain from Mirkwood Bats or Impact Tremors. The deck is highly synergistic but lacks efficient tutors, forcing it to rely on its draw engines and raw card flow to assemble the Snail sacrifice engine.
