Deck overview

This mono-black deck leverages Sheoldred, the Apocalypse to turn life totals and card draw into lethal asymmetrical pressure. The deck operates as a lifegain control and attrition engine, stalling opposing aggression through efficient targeted removal like Bitter Triumph and Infernal Grasp, sweeper effects like Blasphemous Edict, and punitive sacrifice engines such as Grave Pact and Tergrid, God of Fright. Constant card velocity from engines like Black Market Connections, The One Ring, and Necropotence fuels a steady stream of resources while Sheoldred mitigates life loss. The deck transitions into a decisive win through the infinite drain combination of Exquisite Blood paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Sanguine Bond, eliminating all opponents in a single turn. Alternatively, resilient heavy threats like Vein Ripper, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Massacre Wurm close out games through sustained combat and death triggers.
