Deck overview

This Selesnya deck is led by Kudo, King Among Bears, who sets all other creatures to base power and toughness 2/2 and gives them the Bear creature type. The strategy breaks parity on this symmetrical effect by layering +1/+1 counters, tribal anthems, and static modifiers. While opponents see their massive commanders and monsters shrunk down to modest 2/2 stats, your creatures immediately grow into 4/4s, 5/5s, and beyond using cards like Arwen, Weaver of Hope, Cathars' Crusade, and Innkeeper's Talent. Aura Shards and Ayula, Queen Among Bears provide relentless board control by destroying opposing artifacts, enchantments, and utility creatures with every drop. The deck reaches a devastating soft-lock when Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite enters the battlefield, permanently shrinking all opposing 2/2 Bears to 0/0 and wiping them out continuously. Supported by low-cost protection spells like Heroic Intervention and Flawless Maneuver, the deck quickly converts its stat disparity into a decisive combat victory via Akroma's Will or Overwhelming Stampede.
