Deck overview

This Alela, Artful Provocateur deck is an Esper aggro-control strategy focused on casting low-cost artifacts and enchantments to create a lethal swarm of evasive Faerie tokens. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with efficient mana rocks, landing Alela on Turn 3 and immediately triggering token generation on Turn 4. Passive anthems like Intangible Virtue, Favorable Winds, and Scion of Oona turn 1/1 tokens into a formidable air force, while combat-triggered draw engines like Enduring Curiosity and Kindred Discovery provide substantial card replenishment. Opponents are kept off-balance through a mixture of efficient spot removal, countermagic, attack taxes (Ghostly Prison, Propaganda), and aura-based neutralization effects (Darksteel Mutation, Eaten by Piranhas) that incapacitate enemy commanders. The deck reaches a critical combat clock on Turn 6 and cleanly eliminates the table by Turn 8, utilizing one-sided wipes like Raise the Palisade and protective pieces like Sephara, Sky's Blade to secure victory.
