Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain and attrition strategy led by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. It leverages incidental lifegain triggers from cards like Soul Warden, Authority of the Consuls, and Blind Obedience to turn life into massive card draw through the commander's triggered ability. The early game focuses on deploying disruption pieces and establishing mana, followed by resolving Niv-Mizzet around Turn 6. With the engine active, the deck digs through the library for game-ending drain payoffs such as Exsanguinate, Beacon of Immortality, or Psychosis Crawler. Stax elements like Linvala, Keeper of Silence and Thalia, the Survivor suppress aggressive starts and creature-based combos, buying the time needed to close the game around Turn 9.
