Deck overview

This is a Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy mana-combo deck. Its main plan is to deploy Kinnan and Basalt Monolith, then use the commander’s mana doubling to make unlimited colorless mana. Artifact tutors and creature tutors can find the two-card engine or its required payoff, Walking Ballista. Once Ballista is cast with a large value of X, it can deal 40 damage to each opponent immediately. The deck also contains a strong secondary creature package, including Koma, Cosmos Serpent, Hullbreaker Horror, Nezahal, Primal Tide, and Tidespout Tyrant, which Kinnan can place onto the battlefield. Countermagic and Veil of Summer protect the combo in some games, but the deck must divide mana between development and defense. Its ordinary engine is fast enough for a Turn 4 assembly and Turn 5 critical onset, but access to both the combo and payoff remains imperfect. Removal of Kinnan or Basalt Monolith causes a substantial delay.
