Dragons by Calvin

Format: Commander

Commander: Rowan, Scion of War

Bracket: 5

Deck overview

Rowan, Scion of War spearheads an explosive Rakdos turbo-storm deck that weaponizes life loss to discount massive game-ending spells. The strategy accelerates Rowan onto the battlefield, burns life through painlands, MDFCs, Phyrexian mana, or self-inflicted damage enablers like Blood Celebrant and Treasonous Ogre, and taps Rowan to reduce colorless casting costs to zero. This discount fuels explosive sorceries such as Peer into the Abyss, Behold the Beyond, and Dragonstorm. Wins resolve immediately through Dragonstorm fetching Terror of the Peaks and complementary Dragons, Storm-Kiln Artist loops with Reiterate, or Searing Touch buyback lines, while K'rrik and Birgi provide powerful commander-independent storm avenues.
