Deck overview

This Esper control/drain deck is helmed by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed, who turns every MV 3+ noncreature spell into a 2-damage ping to each opponent and a 2-life gain, while drawing a card whenever any player loses 4+ life in a turn. The primary plan is to establish tax and draw engines, control the board with a deep counterspell and instant-speed removal suite, and grind opponents down with drain permanents like Kambal, Consul of Allocation, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Bloodchief Ascension. The deck closes games through the infinite Sanguine Bond/Enduring Tenacity + Exquisite Blood life-drain loop, or with big Exsanguinate and Aetherflux Reservoir finishes. Y'shtola is a powerful engine but not strictly required - the combo lives in the 99 and the control shell stands alone.
