Deck overview

This mono-black Aristocrats deck leverages Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker to turn low-power utility creatures into a recurring engine. By sacrificing creatures with power 1 or less on each player's turn, Shirei returns them at every end step, multiplying enter-the-battlefield and death triggers up to four times per turn cycle. Cards like Burglar Rat and Virus Beetle rapidly strip opposing hands of resources, while Abyssal Gatekeeper and Bone Shredder maintain continuous creature control. Victory is achieved through persistent drain effects from Serrated Scorpion, Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Syr Konrad, the Grim. The deck relies on free sacrifice outlets like Viscera Seer and Carrion Feeder to operate smoothly. Because Shirei is a high-cost, vulnerable centerpiece, maintaining mana efficiency and timing sacrifice triggers carefully around removal are critical to securing a decisive attrition victory.
