Deck overview

The deck uses Maular, the Next Evolution as a seven-mana combat multiplier. Its early turns develop mana with cheap creatures, Auras, land ramp, and creature-based mana engines. The midgame casts Maular and then attacks with creatures that have mana value 7 or greater, doubling their power and toughness. Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, Ghalta and Mavren, Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient, Old Gnawbone, and Craterhoof Behemoth provide stronger board-ending turns when drawn together. Card flow is a major strength: Guardian Project, Beast Whisperer, The Great Henge, Tribute to the World Tree, and Vaultborn Tyrant can turn each large creature into additional cards. The main weakness is timing. The commander is expensive, haste is inconsistent, and the deck lacks a compact, tutorable win condition. Its interaction is useful against permanents but weak against spells and fast combo lines.
