Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius flying-tribal aggro-midrange strategy commanded by Kastral, the Windcrested. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap, evasive Bird creatures in the early turns, establishing anthem effects, and casting Kastral to generate compounding value through combat damage. Whenever Birds deal combat damage to an opponent, Kastral provides flexible utility by drawing cards, placing +1/+1 counters on the entire flock, or recurring fallen Birds straight onto the battlefield. A dense package of low-cost counterspells and protective spells shields the board against opposing interaction, while one-sided effects like Gravitational Shift and Wave Goodbye clear pathways for lethal aerial attacks. The deck wins by swarming opponents over the air, stacking team-wide stat buffs across multiple turns to deplete life totals through evasive combat damage. While it lacks infinite combos or explosive mana acceleration, its steady card flow, resilient recursion tools, and high flying density make it a persistent and cohesive combat threat.
