Commander: K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth turns life into black mana, and this mono-black list is built to exploit that exchange at maximum velocity. The primary plan is to deploy K'rrik early with fast mana, then use life-payment engines - Necropotence, Ad Nauseam, Peer into the Abyss, Bolas's Citadel - to rip through the library and assemble one of several compact kills: Exquisite Blood with Sanguine Bond/Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose/Bloodthirsty Conqueror, Chain of Smog with Professor Onyx, or Bolas's Citadel + Sensei's Divining Top + Aetherflux Reservoir. Big X-spells like Torment of Hailfire and Exsanguinate, a Sheoldred, the Apocalypse + Peer into the Abyss kill, and a surprise Phage the Untouchable cast round out the package. The deck is a high-tutor, high-life-payment combo machine that can also pivot to reanimation via Chainer, Dementia Master and Yawgmoth's Will.
