Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Selesnya midrange engine led by Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn. It converts regular life gain into massive +1/+1 counter distribution across a wide creature board. In the opening turns, the deck deploys efficient mana dorks and low-cost life triggers such as Soul Warden and Essence Warden. Once Lathiel enters on turn 3, every point of life gained turns into permanent power at the end of each turn, quickly transforming small creatures into massive combat threats. The deck scales exponentially with counter doublers like Branching Evolution and Doubling Season, while payoffs like Archangel of Thune and Heliod, Sun-Crowned provide redundant growth. It protects its board state with high-tier defensive instants like Teferi's Protection, Heroic Intervention, and Flawless Maneuver. Combat finishes are closed out cleanly with evasion from Abzan Falconer, Kodama of the West Tree, or Akroma's Will, alongside an incidental infinite damage combo with Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista.
