Commander: The Ur-Dragon

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This deck is a Dragon tribal powerhouse helmed by The Ur-Dragon, leveraging its eminence cost reduction to cast expensive Dragons ahead of curve. The primary game plan is to ramp heavily in the early turns, deploy cost reducers like Urza's Incubator, then cast The Ur-Dragon and swing to trigger its attack ability: drawing a card for each attacking Dragon and putting a permanent card from your hand onto the battlefield. This engine fuels explosive combat turns, often finishing with extra combats from Scourge of the Throne and Great Train Heist or damage multipliers like Twinflame Tyrant. Secondary win paths include Call the Spirit Dragons's alternate condition and reanimation via Ancient Brass Dragon. The deck generates overwhelming value through high-synergy Dragon triggers and can chain multiple powerful effects in a single turn.
