Deck overview

Doctor Doom, King of Latveria leads a Grixis Villain typal deck centered on combat pressure, hand filtering, and life-drain attrition. The strategy curves out with early mana artifacts and low-cost Villains on turns one through three before casting Doctor Doom on turn four. At combat, Doom grants menace and triggers connive, steadily filtering draws, growing attackers with +1/+1 counters, and burning opponents whenever lands are discarded. The midgame expands this board state using token generators like Madame Hydra and Ultron, Unlimited, while synergistic lords such as Iron Monger, Sadistic Tycoon and The Squadron Sinister provide evasion and stat buffs. Discard engines amplify this pressure through Archfiend of Ifnir board suppression and life loss from Crossbones and Kang, Temporal Tyrant. The deck packs versatile reactive removal and asymmetric sweepers, but relies on maintaining a persistent creature army across multiple combat steps with limited countermagic to shield against board wipes.
