Deck overview

This mono-green stompy deck maximizes power velocity to cast its 12/12 commander, Ghalta, Primal Hunger, as early as Turn 4 for just two green mana. The deck utilizes hyper-efficient 3-mana creatures with outsized power stats, such as Pugnacious Hammerskull and Rhonas the Indomitable, to satisfy Ghalta's cost reduction rapidly. Once deployed, Ghalta fuels explosive draw engines like The Great Henge and Garruk's Uprising while applying massive trample pressure to opponents. Heavy combat buffs from Excalibur, Sword of Eden and The Skullspore Nexus allow Ghalta to knock out players in single swings. The deck safeguards its massive board with a dense suite of flexible protection spells like Heroic Intervention and Smuggler's Surprise, ensuring it can push through lethal combat damage by Turn 7.
