Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Mardu aggro-control deck helmed by Kaalia of the Vast. Its primary strategy accelerates into an early Kaalia cast using low-cost artifacts such as Arcane Signet and Talisman of Hierarchy, then attacks on turn 4 to cheat massive Angels, Demons, and Dragons directly into combat without paying their mana costs. Key payoffs like Master of Cruelties provide single-turn player knockouts, while Archfiend of Despair, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, and Aurelia, the Warleader rapidly multiply combat damage to close the game across subsequent turns. The deck supplements its aggressive clock with a premier Mardu removal suite (Swords to Plowshares, Anguished Unmaking, Toxic Deluge) and asymmetric stax pieces like Linvala, Keeper of Silence and Liesa, Forgotten Archangel. While vulnerable to well-timed spot removal targeting Kaalia before she attacks, protective equipment and reanimation backup ensure strong pressure and steady recovery.
