Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger strategy helmed by Shantotto, Tactician Magician. Shantotto rewards spending large amounts of mana on noncreature spells by growing into a massive combat threat and cantripping on spells that cost four or more mana. The deck accelerates in the early game using efficient two-mana rocks and cost reducers before transitioning into high-CMC value spells like Big Score, Deep Analysis, and Creative Technique. In the mid-to-late game, the deck leverages explosive mana producers such as Mana Geyser and Storm-Kiln Artist to power out game-ending spells like Thousand-Year Storm, Dance with Calamity, Surge to Victory, and Manaform Hellkite. While the deck possesses immense burst potential and card velocity, its reliance on sorcery-speed payoffs and modest suite of instant-speed countermagic leaves it open to interaction before it untaps for lethal damage.
