Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines Zombie tribal synergies with explosive graveyard reanimation led by Balthor the Defiled. In the early turns, it deploys low-cost self-mill enablers such as Stitcher's Supplier, Undead Butler, and Ripples of Undeath to stock the graveyard with high-impact Zombie threats. Acceleration from rituals and big-mana lands like Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast enables the deck to cast and activate Balthor by Turn 5. Activating Balthor reanimates the entire graveyard simultaneously, triggering a devastating chain reaction: Noxious Ghoul wipes opposing creature boards, while Ayara, First of Locthwain and Gray Merchant of Asphodel drain opposing life totals in large chunks. The deck closes games on the following turn through unblockable combat damage enabled by Zombie Master and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, or through sacrifice loops with Vengeful Dead and Carrion Feeder. While vulnerable to graveyard hate and noncreature combos, its high redundancy and overwhelming recursion make it a resilient attrition engine.
