Deck overview

This is a classic Golgari Elfball deck helmed by Lathril, Blade of the Elves, built to flood the board with Elf tokens and close games through a combination of wide combat damage and life-drain effects. The primary plan is to ramp aggressively with a dense suite of mana dorks, deploy Lathril to generate token armies on contact, then finish via Beastmaster Ascension, Ezuri, Renegade Leader's overrun, or Lathril's own activated drain. A powerful secondary axis is the infinite-mana combo package - Devoted Druid with Staff of Domination or Umbral Mantle, plus Marwyn, the Nurturer lines - which fuels a lethal Exsanguinate or Shaman of the Pack. The commander is a token engine and drain outlet, but the deck's combo lines live entirely in the 99, making it function well even if Lathril is repeatedly answered.
