how many tokens is enough? by user2808204

Format: Commander

Commander: Marneus Calgar

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Marneus Calgar is an Esper token-storm engine: every token he sees entering draws a card, and the deck multiplies tokens with Mondrak, Elspeth, Kaya, and Bard. The primary plan is to assemble a draw-token loop with Nadir Kraken and Ashnod's Altar, then drain the table with Zulaport Cutthroat or similar death triggers. Secondary paths are a wide Adeline/Commissar attack and a treasure/Clue value plan led by Smothering Tithe and Academy Manufactor. Marneus also works as a double-strike finisher, but his real role is engine and combo lynchpin; Bard, King of Dale functions as the hidden commander, doubling both draws and tokens. This is a midrange combo-value deck that can grind card advantage or execute an infinite sacrifice loop.
