Deck overview

This deck is a focused Grixis Reanimator build led by Kess, Dissident Mage. The primary objective is to dump massive, disruptive creatures into the graveyard early using targeted tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive or looters like Faithless Looting and Careful Study. Once a target is binned, cheap reanimation spells such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Exhume cheat it onto the battlefield as early as Turn 3 or 4. Targets like Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur strip opposing resources while Archon of Cruelty, Valgavoth, Terror Eater, and Vilis, Broker of Blood generate immense board control and card advantage. Kess acts as a powerful recursive engine from the command zone, allowing spent reanimation spells and interaction to be recast directly from the graveyard. The deck wins through overwhelming combat damage and recurring attrition, closing the game around Turn 7.
