Deck overview

This Satoru Umezawa deck is a Dimir Ninjutsu tempo deck engineered to cheat massive, game-ending creatures onto the battlefield early in the game. The primary game plan deploys inexpensive unblockable creatures on Turn 1, casts Satoru on Turn 3, and activates ninjutsu for four mana on Turn 4 during the declare blockers step. This bypasses normal mana costs and creature counterspells, putting lethal threats such as Blightsteel Colossus, Jin-Gitaxias, Archon of Cruelty, or Ancient Silver Dragon directly into combat. Satoru's triggered ability provides card selection on each ninjutsu activation, continuously refilling the hand. The supporting shell provides low-cost spot removal, counterspells, and protective equipment. While the strategy relies on Satoru remaining on the battlefield to enable its primary cheat engine, the dense package of evasive attackers and devastating payoffs creates rapid single-target eliminations and overwhelming board advantages.
