Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Midrange strategy commanded by Sauron, the Lidless Eye. Its game plan focuses on controlling the early board with efficient spot removal and small creatures before casting Sauron on Turn 5. When Sauron enters the battlefield, it temporarily steals an opponent's best creature, untaps it, and gives it haste to create an immediate tempo swing. In subsequent turns, the deck uses Sauron's activated ability to pump its attacking creatures by +2/+0 while draining 2 life from every opponent simultaneously. High-stat beaters like Inferno Titan, Yargle, Glutton of Urborg, and Smaug, the Great Calamity provide heavy combat redundancy. While the deck possesses a rich suite of creature removal and board sweepers like Languish and Villainous Wrath, it lacks stack interaction, enchantment answers, and dedicated protection spells, leaving its commander vulnerable to opposing removal.
