Deck overview

This Grixis deck is commanded by Doctor Doom, King of Latveria, centering on a focused Villain typal aggro-drain strategy. The primary game plan curves low-cost Villains and mana rocks into Doctor Doom on Turn 4. Beginning the turn he enters, Doom grants combat menace and triggers connive, steadily sculpting hand quality while growing creatures with +1/+1 counters or draining opponents when land cards are discarded. By Turn 6, the deck reaches critical onset by deploying force multipliers like Roaming Throne, Living Laser, or token engines such as Madame Hydra and Construct a Cosmic Cube. With evasive menace attackers and compounding noncombat life loss from Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Crossbones, Malicious Mercenary, and HYDRA Assault Robot, the deck steadily chips through opposing life totals to close games around Turn 8. While it features strong card selection, efficient countermagic, and protective resilience from Kid Loki and Thunderbolts Conspiracy, it relies on maintaining a creature board state and gives opponents two response cycles after onset.
