Deck overview

This Abzan deck is piloted by Betor, Ancestor's Voice, blending lifegain synergy, self-inflicted life loss, and heavy graveyard reanimation. The strategy uses life total manipulation as both fuel and currency. Early turns focus on establishing mana through land ramp and mana rocks while deploying utility creatures like Soul Warden and Dark Confidant. Once Betor enters on Turn 4, the deck converts combat lifelink and life payments into +1/+1 counters and free end-step reanimation of massive threats like Archon of Cruelty, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, and Vilis, Broker of Blood. The deck finishes games either through overwhelming aerial combat bolstered by +1/+1 counters or via the deterministic two-card infinite combo of Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose and Exquisite Blood. With flexible removal and potent recovery spells, the deck maintains high resilience against board wipes.
